One of Rush’s most exciting partnerships is with Free Spirit PRO. Free Spirit PRO is the social enterprise and production training arm of Free Spirit Media, a nonprofit focused on using media to transform society by providing opportunities for emerging creators, primarily from communities of color, to produce and distribute original content and to pursue artistic, personal and professional aspirations.
Rush Production Group, the in-house video/photo team for the Rush University System for Health, is not able to accept all video requests it receives. In keeping with Rush’s Anchor Mission to be an engine of positive change in nearby communities, David Mrazek, Manager of Rush Production Group, reached out to Chad Rispalje, a producer with Free Spirit PRO, to produce requests for videos geared toward Rush internal audiences.
Young adult media makers, in collaboration with staff producers, have been working with Rush University Medical Center since May 2018, producing video projects for ELM (Eat, Love, Move), RML Blood Center, MyChart-MyRush, Research Compliance, and Hospital Guest Relations.
Notably, Free Spirit PRO is also a producing partner with Rush Production Group for West Side United, producing social media vignettes for the “My West Side is…” campaign.
Free Spirit PRO provides excellent experience for young media makers and excellent content for Rush. Rush looks forward to a continuing, fruitful relationship with Free Spirit Media.
