WSU’s Community Advisory Council applications are now open!

Applications are due by June 1, 2022 at 11:59pm.

Background

The Community Advisory Council (CAC) is an 18-member council whose primary role is to track the pulse of the west side community as it relates to West Side United (WSU) initiatives and strategic plans. The CAC functions as a major channel for the community’s input and works closely with the WSU leadership, programmatic teams and domain stakeholders to integrate community feedback into planned or proposed initiatives. Council members are encouraged to:

  • Bring your community’s needs to the table.
  • Share and learn professional development topics in Working Groups.
  • Meet other passionate community members and a network of community organizations contributing to the health and well-being of the West Side.

Participation Benefits

Each member of the CAC receives an annual stipend distributed each quarter while serving a term of 2 years with an option to renew for a 3rd year on the council. Members are requested to attend all required meetings. Members should plan on dedicating 5-10 hours per month to WSU activities.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and share feedback from the larger West Side community.
  • Provide input and recommendations on WSU proposed or ongoing initiatives.
  • Serve on another WSU Committee or Working Group (e.g., Leadership Council or initiative working group).
  • Provide strategic guidance and tactical assistance to WSU Leadership and Programmatic Teams and Working Groups as needed (e.g. resource and community referrals, etc.).
