In August, West Side United convened the Education Committee to align on the Community Hub’s scoring rubric and process. In total, West Side United received 23 inspiring applications. Each of our Education Committee Members reviewed four to five applications, and each school application was scored at least twice.
After weeks of analysis and deliberation, we have narrowed the list down to our top three Cluster of Care finalists:
- Herzl School of Excellence
- Maria Saucedo Scholastic Academy
- Robert Nathaniel Dett Elementary School
Congratulations to the schools above!
Over the next few weeks, West Side United will schedule final interviews and site visits with the three finalists. We aim to complete all interviews and site visits by mid-October. West Side United will select the Cluster of Care grantee by late October. Upon the selection of the school, WSU will begin working with school administrators, school staff, parents, and community partners to plan for the design and launch of the Cluster of Care Community Hub Model.
Sincerely,
Tenisha Jones
